Yang Changfeng, chief designer of Beidou satellite navigation system, introduced that the satellite launched this time is the first geostationary orbit satellite of Beidou No.3 system and the seventeenth satellite network of China Beidou No.3 system. Based on the full compatibility with the Beidou II short message service, the satellite will increase capacity by 10 times and reduce the transmission power of the user machine by 10 times.
